Digg this

Is it hard to take vacation leave? Yes….and no. Is there any smart way to take vacation? There is. How to take vacation in smart way? Read on. Some people hard to take vacation because of the boss likely not ever let them to take vacation, while the others make it hard themselves. Why?

To you who merely want to get a tips how to take vacation with no rejection from the boss, go and read here (how to take vacation with no rejection).

To you who un-able to take vacation because of you make it hard for yourself (as I did before), let’s figure this out further.

I did not take my 20 accrued vacations during 2003-2004-2005. It is our company policy to wash any vacation balance after the January 15 of each year without providing any reimbursement. Silly me, I never bother to take them in another day. So I lost them forever. It was not because of my boss didn’t let me take the vacations, but because of I decided my self to not take the vacation. As a financial controller, end year are busiest days, end year closing book, auditing, annual stockholder meeting, annual tax file preparation. Working 60 hours was just not enough. Until I realized that I actually put myself on a health crisis. Since then, now, I never let any single vacation lost. How?

Most employee (if not most people) take vacation in the weeks between x-mast and Jan 10, for most of family member are available or pushed themselves to be available during that period. To me, that never worked. Instead, I take vacation while everybody is available in the office. Taking vacation should not always been on the peak—vacation—session, instead just take whenever possible whenever you need some relieves.

You know what? That is the smart way I ever took in my vacation world, why?

[-]. While most employee take vacation, I can work (underlined “really work”) without any single interruption, a peaceful workplace indeed. I cached all deadline before its day, credit point for me!

[-]. While most people back to works, air ticket and hotel rate goes back to normal, I save 20-30% of the peak rat!)

[-]. Relaxing airport lounge, relaxing cabin in the plane, relaxing airport destination, cheaper transportation, less crowd beach, what is better than those?

Of course vacation never for the reason of “hard-work escape”, so never take vacation on a busy event.

Want to follow my smart way to take vacation ?, go and do that, if your boss seems never let you go for vacation, read this (how to take vacation with no rejection)
